Introduction

iScan2BIM is an AWS Cloud Integrated solution for intelligent and highly automatic scan to BIM conversion.

iScan2BIM Software As A Service (SAAS) is able to accept various types of point cloud data as input, and to produce BIM IFC 4.0 as output.

For first time users, please register with iScan2BIM SAAS. Registered users can then upload point cloud with iScan2BIM system. Users are advised to follow the below instruction when generating point cloud for suitable spaces physically existing including residential apartments, offices, factories, plants, warehouses, carparks, etc.

Instructions

1. Scan Resolution
For structures (e.g., wall, beam, column, door, window, ceiling and floor), 2 cm or better resolution recommended.

For MEP (e.g., pipe and duct), 3 mm or better resolution recommended.

2. Scan with Colour
Point Cloud Colour scanning recommended.

3. Scan Coverage
For Pipes with Diameter smaller than 4cm, at least 120 degrees around the perimeter Scan Coverage recommended.

Otherwise, at least 90 degrees Scan Coverage recommended.

For Ducts, at least 2 adjacent surfaces should be fully scanned.

4. Point Cloud File Format
Recommended file formats: PLY, XYZ, PTS, LAS, and LAZ.

ZIP the Point Cloud file to save the uploading time (Note: No folder is allowed in the ZIP file).
